Travel with Purpose: Valmiki Hari Kishan Showcases the Power of Skål International Networking
Skål International highlights the remarkable journey of Valmiki Hari Kishan, a member of Skål International Hyderabad, India, whose travels across 99 countries exemplify how tourism can create meaningful global impact when guided by purpose, service, and strong professional networks.
For Valmiki, Skål International is far more than an association—it is a global community where friendship drives business and collaboration. Guided by his belief that “seeing is believing,” his travels blend tourism development, education, and humanitarian action.
At the core of his mission is the revival of VolunTourism, combining travel with community service. Through initiatives such as The Egg Bank Movement, active in 12 countries and providing daily nutrition to over 100,000 children, Valmiki has transformed a simple idea into a powerful global humanitarian effort.
Known online as “Travel Monk,” Valmiki promotes lesser known destinations and authentic tourism experiences, most recently highlighting the untapped potential of Shikoku Island, Japan. His approach relies heavily on building relationships before travel, leveraging the strength of Skål International’s global network.
During his visit to Japan, connections within Skål led to a cultural exchange event on 21 March 2026 at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, Tokyo, hosted by Masato Takamatsu, President of Skål International Tokyo, reinforcing Skål’s enduring values of friendship and cooperation.
In recognition of his leadership and contribution to hospitality education, Valmiki was appointed Honorary Board Member of Japan Hotel School and is also a Distinguished Fellow of the International Hospitality Council, London.
Valmiki Hari Kishan’s journey stands as a powerful example of how Skål International networking connects cultures, builds trust, and transforms travel into a force for positive global change.
