Skål International Kuala Lumpur celebrates the End of Ramadhan – Eid Mubarak!
Skål International Kuala Lumpur celebrates with its member celebrants the culmination of the Ramadhan month of Fasting, by following on with its pledge to donate Malaysian Ringgit 1,000.00 (approx. Euros 222) to The Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera, a charitable local Islamic Establishment which provides shelter to Muslim boys and girls between the ages of 7-17, all of whom hail from underprivileged backgrounds.
In the spirit of Ramadan, the Malaysian Association of Hotels, Kuala Lumpur Chapter, embarks upon this charitable campaign annually. Posters, tent cards, and other promotional materials featuring QR payment codes are displayed at each participating hotel & their restaurants, promoting the “Buka Puasa” theme of raising financial donations for selected charity homes.
To this end, Skål International Kuala Lumpur connects with the Malaysian Association of Hotels to support this worthy Cause and made good our donation towards the Establishment’s operational needs, in the name of our Hospitality Industry Commonality. And the pledge was duly honoured and made on March 27, 2026.
With this duly done and dusted, the month of Ramadhan culminated on Saturday, March 21st, 2026.
This heralded the usual excitement that accompanies the prospect of visiting our Muslim members, neighbours and friends to greet them with the local “Selamat Hari Raya” greeting, with “Hari Raya” being a generic term meaning “a celebratory day”. This does not go without the much anticipated savour of delectable Hari Raya traditional fare like satay, ketupat (mini rice cakes encased in cubes of woven pandan leaves) chicken rendang, ‘lemang’ (glutinous rice grilled in bamboo poles over an open flame grill) and of course the ubiquitous kueh-kueh, a variety of traditional snacks; they’re more than just snacks—they’re memories soaked deep in tradition.
Skål International Kuala Lumpur takes this opportunity, as “Hari Raya” celebrations stretch over a 14-day period, to wish all our fellow Skålleagues, “Selamat Hari Raya Eid-ul Fitri”!
