Small Actions that Create Great Hope
Small Actions that Create Great Hope
Sustainability in tourism often begins with simple actions. In Guadalajara, Skål International Guadalajara has embraced this philosophy through a plastic cap recycling initiative.
Thanks to the management and leadership of Gerardo González Vite, President of Skål International Guadalajara, and through the Sustainability Committee, this initiative has been promoted to integrate efforts from the tourism sector with social causes, encouraging concrete actions in favor of the environment and the community.
This initiative is carried out in collaboration with Mi Gran Esperanza A.C., an organization that supports children undergoing cancer treatment. The collected caps are recycled and transformed into financial support for the foundation. Thanks to the participation of Skål members and partners, significant quantities have been collected. This model can be replicated by other Skål associations, showing how local actions can create global impact. When small actions come together, they build a more conscious industry and a more compassionate society.
Sustainability in tourism is no longer optional—it is essential. The plastic cap initiative by Skål International Guadalajara shows that change can begin with simple actions. By partnering with Mi Gran Esperanza A.C., this initiative creates both environmental and social impact. It reinforces a key idea: we are a global community capable of generating positive change.
When these actions are multiplied globally, the impact becomes transformational.
