Skål International Lugano is honored to announce the establishment of a scholarship in memory of David Fontanella, who passed away in September 2024.

David Fontanella was a highly esteemed figure in the Swiss tourism industry, having served as President of Skål International Switzerland. 

He was a proud alumnus of the Scuola specializzata superiore alberghiera e del turismo (SSSAT) in Bellinzona, he dedicated his life to advancing tourism both locally and internationally.

The scholarship, instituted by Skål International Lugano, is exclusively reserved for students enrolled in the ‘Tourism Specialist’ track at SSSAT. The objective of this initiative is to honor the legacy and values upheld by Mr. Fontanella by supporting the professional development of young individuals in the tourism sector.
