All Skål Clubs worldwide that meet all the requirements listed below. Headquarters carries on a thorough revision to determine the eligible Clubs each year, who are then invited to participate in the Skål Club of the Year Award. 

1. Payment of annual international membership fees made by the Club by 28 February.

2. Membership retention rate of at least 85%, or a minimum of 90% for Clubs with 100 or more members. Skål Students are excluded in the calculation (from 1 January 2025 to 30 April of current year). 

3. Contribution to the Florimond Volckaert Fund (from 1 January 2025 to 30 April of current year).

4. Contribution to the Membership Development Fund (From 1 January 2025 to 30 April of current year).

5. That the Club is active in at least one social media platform such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. 

6. That the Club has adopted the Skål Branding with the new corporate identity logo. 

The eligible Clubs are invited to produce a 2:30 minute video outlining their achievements, initiatives to recruit or retain their membership, promote the Skål brand or their charity and sustainable functions undertaken from 1 January 2025 to 30 April 2026. Deadline for submission of this video: 30 July 2026.

The video specifications are outlined by the General Secretariat in the official invitation to participate.

Clubs are allowed to campaign, however, contestants are recommended to refrain from excessive campaigning

Eligible Clubs will be invited to vote electronically for the Skål Club of the Year prior the Skål International AGA.

Clubs with up to 65 Active/Allied/Life/Retired/Young Skål Professional members are entitled to one vote and those with 66 or more Active/Life/Retired/Young Skål Professional, two votes.

The voting process is conducted on Election Buddy.

Instructions concerning the link to vote are properly shared with Clubs Officers in due course.

The Club achieving the highest number of votes is declared ‘Skål Club of the Year 2026'.

The winner of the Skål Club of the Year 2026 will be officially announced during the Opening Ceremony of the 85th Skål World Congress in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa, on 30 September.

After receiving the highest number of votes, SKÅL INTERNATIONAL MÉRIDA from Mexico was honored with the prestigious title in 2025. The Club was presented with a distinctive crystal trophy and a certificate granting one free Double Congress registration in First Class for the 2026 Skål World Congress. Airfare not included.
