One Member, One Tree

Skål International Asia Environmental Campaign

Following the Skål International World Congress 2025 in Cusco, Peru, member since 2004 and Director for Sustainability and Environment for Koh Samui Island, Claudio Cerquetti, agreed to support Skål International Asia President Shekhar Divadkar in spreading the “One Member, One Tree” initiative amongst all Skål Clubs in Thailand, wherein every member is encouraged to plant one (sapling) tree before the Skål International Asia Congress in Macau in June 2026.

How does it work?

In Koh Samui, committed environmentalist Claudio and his company have agreed to sponsor this initiative by donating 100 small trees / mangroves (around 10 cm each) for the Island's participation to the initiative.

Members can pick them up at one of the upcoming Skål International Koh Samui events, and plant them in their garden or any suitable place.

It is more of a symbolic gesture — and all they must do is to organise a photo of them planting their tree and submitting it to their Club Secretary.

The more trees the better!

Other Skål Clubs can either buy some small trees to give out to members, or they can seek a sponsor like Claudio in Samui.

The goal is simple - by the end of May 2026, we will have collated a stack of photos showing members and their friends and families, planting trees in their respective districts.

Claudio will create a slideshow to share at the Macau Congress showing Thailand's Clubs commitment to green planet cause.

If you think this is something that would be of interest to your Club or yourself in person, please contact the persons listed below.

Thank you in anticipation of your kind support for this worthy initiative.
