Mourning Bruce Jellard

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dear friend Bruce Jellard, who celebrated a life that was lived with purpose, dignity, friendship, and heart.

Bruce reached the wonderful age of 85 this past December, and in that time, he built a life that spanned countries, careers, friendships, and generations. He chose to make his home in Bali, but his influence and friendships stretched far beyond any single shore.

Bruce was, at his core, a gentleman of the world.

As a former International Golf Club Manager, he brought people together through sport, leadership, and camaraderie. Golf, for Bruce, was never just about the game — it was about connection, respect, discipline, and the joy of sharing good company on a green fairway.

He also served with distinction as President of the Skål International Bali Chapter, leading this international tourism organization for six dedicated years. Under his guidance, the chapter flourished, friendships deepened, and countless professionals from around the world felt welcomed, encouraged, and inspired. Bruce had the rare ability to make everyone in the room feel included, no matter who they were or where they came from.

Beyond titles and achievements, Bruce’s heart was firmly rooted in service.

Through his work with the Rotarians, he gave back quietly and consistently, helping others not for recognition, but because he believed that a life is only meaningful when it improves the lives of others...

And then there is the love story at the center of Bruce’s life, his beloved wife, Wiwik.

In his later years, as his strength faded and the days became more fragile, Wiwik stood beside him with unwavering devotion. She was his caregiver, his companion, his anchor, and his greatest blessing. Their bond was a living example of what true partnership looks like: patience, tenderness, loyalty, and a love that does not retreat when times grow difficult. Bruce was deeply aware of this gift, and he carried that gratitude in his heart every day.

To know Bruce was to know warmth, humor, wisdom, and kindness.

He had stories to tell, lessons to share, and a steady presence that made people feel safe, heard, and valued. His friendships were long and genuine. His handshake was firm. His word was trusted.

Bruce leaves behind not only memories, but a legacy of leadership, service, friendship, and love. He showed us how to age with grace, how to give without seeking reward, and how to love with quiet strength.

While we feel the sadness of his passing, we also feel deep gratitude that we were lucky enough to share Bruce’s life journey with him.

Deepest condolences to Wiwik, and all of Bruce’s family and friends worldwide.

Bruce, you will be dearly missed by us all. Your life was beautifully lived.

Rest in peace, our friend.

You will always be remembered.
